Boost Your Energy This Spring

The arrival of spring brings forth new life and inspires us to plant seeds for our hopes and dreams . This is the season to reboot and energize our physical, mental and emotional well-being. Yet it can feel difficult to shed the sluggishness of a long and difficult winter. We might notice a heavy dampness that has settled deep into our bones and a yearning for change.

The practice of Ayurveda reminds us to simplify and nourish the liver as we transition into warmer weather. While this can be a great time to do a gentle cleanse, sometimes just shifting one simple practice into your daily routine can boost your energy.

Experiment with the following and try to add it to your daily routine:

  • Drink lukewarm water first thing in the morning and continue to hydrate throughout the day.

  • Add plenty of greens to your diet and experiment with different types.

  • Take a 20-minute walk outside. It’s a great way to break up your day and absorb some sunlight.

  • Pause and breathe deeply.

An attitude of nourishment instead of deprivation can be the difference between good intentions and lasting change. Whatever you do, keep it simple and change will come gradually one step at a time.
