As we find ourselves in the season of letting go, we might wonder how to cultivate true connection when the world around us sometimes feels so unstable. Yet springtime naturally encourages us to trust in our own ability to grow in new directions and to heal ourselves from old wounds. It is a time of renewed energy with the power to support each and every one of us to cultivate new and life-affirming ways of being in our bodies and minds. As time goes on, I hope to share with you some of the most simple tools that I have found to bring me back to Self.
Adding green into your diet is a great way to nourish the body as we transition from winter into spring. This super simple recipe is not too sweet and can be made in a regular blender. It tastes great for breakfast or a snack. You can experiment with different types of green fruits and veggies, but this one is crisp and tart.
1 cup coconut water or almond milk
a few handfuls of mixed baby greens (like kale and chard)
granny smith apple (chopped into small cubes)
juice of 1 lime
splash of flax seed oil
Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth (adding more liquid if needed). You can add a teaspoon of spirulina if you have it or a bit of honey to sweeten.
