Spring is the ideal time to detox the body, clear the mind and heal attachments to anything that doesn't really serve you anymore. If you can commit to self-care in a way that is fun and nourishing, it will be much easier to make positive changes that are sustainable.
Making smoothies can be a creative expression of self-love. You don't have to spend a ton of cash on expensive pre-made juices in plastic bottles and you certainly don't need a fancy "juicer" to get the job done. All you need is a simple one-speed blender and access to fresh fruits and vegetables.
The trick is to give yourself permission to experiment and to let go of perfection. This delicious and kid-friendly recipe was made with the ingredients left in the refrigerator one day.
Spring Clean Smoothie
1 cup frozen pineapple
Juice of 1 lemon
juice of 1 lime
2 celery sticks, chopped
splash of honey
splash of flax seed oil (optional)
1 cup water
Place all the ingredients into blender and blend until smooth (adding more water if needed).
You can strain if you prefer a clear juice.
