My goal as a teacher....
is to help guide you towards achieving your full potential by cultivating your inner voice through the power of the practice. Drawn to the spiritual, emotional and health benefits of yoga, my background with music and mothering inspires me to share this transformative wisdom in a fun, flexible and lyrical way. Workshops, classes and private sessions with me will take you on a journey that moves beyond the physical experience of yoga into a deeper exploration of self through powerful and balanced sequences enhanced with mantra, mudra and breath awareness. Whether the focus is vinyasa or yin, you might experience a challenging yet accessible flow, a little yoga philosophy, new ways of moving your body, pranayama, and maybe some chanting to raise your vibration. My greatest hope is that you leave our time together feeling a bit more connected.
Where I teach...
You can find me teaching group and private yoga and meditation in my hOMe yoga space, as well as locations in NJ and NY, including Three Birds Yoga Studio in Florham Park, NJ, Dhyana Yoga Arts in Chester, NJ and Ananda Ashram in the Catskills of New York. I am the Director of the Yoga Program at the Berkeley Aquatic Center in New Providence, NJ and help train other yoga teachers as part of several different trainings.
Background & training...
A graduate of Vassar College and Yale University, with a Masters in Public Health, I am an experienced registered yoga teacher at the 500-level with special training to work with children and teens. I have worked extensively with beginners and advanced practitioners, including training other teachers about the healing benefits of yoga, sound vibration and meditation.
I completed my initial training at Ananda Ashram in New York and am a certified ChildLight Yoga Instructor. My advanced training from the Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in NYC, included a 100-hour training in Ayurveda and Healing. My teaching style draws from many traditions and is deeply rooted in Ashtanga and the timeless wisdom of the ancient scriptures.
